Hello! Thanks for visiting me here. I’m George Doolan and I created Doolan Wines with my first vintage in 2020. A student of viticulture and fanatic of terroir, I came to Oregon House in 2019 after experiencing a local glass of 1993 Cabernet that radiated pure granite. After some years traveling the world, apprenticing for my winegrowing heroes, I returned to find work in the wild, old vineyards of Oregon House. Removed from California’s agricultural machine, the rugged Yuba River and its surrounding area inspired with potential to make wine fully immersed by nature; this is opera in the jungle.

Today, Doolan Wines is based in the Tahoe National Forest in Camptonville, California. It’s a privilege to tend a handful of mature, high elevation sites scattered across the historic goldfields of the northwestern Sierra Nevada. Via meticulous farming and minimalist winemaking techniques, I’m committed to producing wine that expresses our mountain landscape. Here, vineyards are the teacher and it is my joy to share their stories and preserve their integrity for future generations.
